Eating through New Concept's dimsum lunch menu

#16 - Shark's Fin Dumplings - This comes in a green wrapper and we had wanted to order this from last time... it was mainly shrimp with a thin slice of shark's fin layered on top with some red fish roe... in an open green wrapper - very attractive presentation, but so so in taste

#18 - Abalone Mushroom dumplings - mainly shredded black mushroom, taste of abalone non-existent or faint (or else my palate could not decipher) - translucent silvery wrapper - looked pretty, but tasted so so

#19 - Crab Meat dumplings - this was OK, but tasted very much like the shrimp har gao... not much natural flavor

#24 - Shanghai dumplings - always OUTSTANDING (repeat order from last time)

#25 - Bamboo wrap with abalone sauce - this was good - not sure what the filling was (perhaps abalone)

#31 - Spare ribs with black bean sauce - this was also a standout - little pieces of taro (potato?) that were cooked with the spare ribs had soaked up so much flavor... all starchy vegetables should meet this fate!

#46 - Curry Squid - I usually avoid Chinese and Japanese curried dishes - but had to relent at my lunch partner's insistence... easily the worst of all dishes we have tried... watery curry sauce, too chewy squid, with some fish balls... AVOID (the silver lining - next time I will order the Pan Fried Rice Noodle with Spic XO Sauce, and the Salted Fish and Minced Pork Claypot Rice)
