Inspired by russkar's review (scroll below, dated 8/6), I've committed to trying Fountain Valley's Tsuruhashi. Tsuruhashi serves up great Japanese style barbecue (yakiniku) featuring Prime grade Angus beef that you grill yourself at the table. Venerable hounds russkar and Chris G are vocal supporters of the place, and their recommendations have been dead-on in my experience. I'd like to share my first visit with you and make it that much more memorable.
So I'm inviting you to a dinner on Wednesday 9/10/2003 at 6:30pm. Please RSVP with a committed headcount. Follow the link below to a discussion of Tsuruahashi from February 2003.
As Chow events go, this one's real casual: nothing to prepare in advance or bring, except your guests and your appetite. I will make our dinner more meaningful to our community at large by contributing $20 to help pay for Chowhound's server bandwidth. If you'd also like to pitch in a little something, check out the goodies on the ChowMarket page: http://chowhound.safeshopper.com/
I'd like to emphasize that a contribution is entirely up to you and independent from the dinner, m'kay?
Email me if you're interested in meeting and eating with your fellow hounds and I'll send an eVite with more details. We will communicate by email to keep traffic on this board to a minimum.
This dinner is not sanctioned by Chowhound, Inc, its principals, volunteers, or anyone else associated with Chowhound. If you are captured during the course of this dinner, the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of your mission.
