I have a SMEG oven that gets fairly heavy use and despite prompt cleaning with warm soapy water, inevitably baked-on food residue accumulated on the top and bottom enamel panels.
Getting oven cleaners in Bangkok is not the easiest thing, but after much looking around, I found Easy-Off.
I blogged about that on my website, and got a comment from a professional oven cleaner in England who advised;
1) Wear gloves and avoid inhaling the spray
2) Keep the spray off the 2 (side) self-cleaning liners. Use only on the enamel panels
3) Keep the spray off the paintwork, as it strips off paint (some of the inner panels on the door are painted).
Item 3 was a little scary.
Anyway, I have now got the industrial strength gloves and am ready to use the cleaner.
I reckon there must be many people who have direct experience with using Easy-Off, and I would be grateful for any advice you may have for me.
Only thing is there is no point suggesting other brands - it really is difficult finding oven cleaners in the stores here, and the local distributor for SMEG ovens is of no help whatsoever.
