East Ocean Seafood, Alameda? or Hong Kong East Ocean?

I'm looking for a place for a Chinese dinner in the East Bay for six to eight persons, and two of the group don't eat pork, one doesn't like anything spicy, so Cantonese/seafood would seem to fit the bill. Everyone in the group loves crab, so someplace with a nice crab dish would be good.

However, location is a bit of an issue, and I am searching for alternatives to going to Richmond to Daimo or Siagon Seafood Harbor. Any recent reports on dinner (not dim sum) at East Ocean Seafood or Hong Kong East Ocean? (Hong Kong East Ocean would be ideal location-wise, but other than discussions about the Chef from Harbor Village possibly going there (?) I haven't heard much that is positive, and my one experience there for dim sum wasn't that positive either (it has been a while, however). Wherever we go, we'd like to make a reservation, but don't want to pre-order.

Cost is also a bit of a factor, so comments on the relative costs would be helpful too, recognizing that we will have to pay more for some of the fresh seafood dishes. HKEO has a website, but no menu posted. I found a web menu for East Ocean in Alameda, and it seems to be quite reasonably priced.

Or should I just go to Daimo? Thanks for any help!
