East Coast-style subs in LA?

Some call them hoagies, others call them heroes...

My family used to own a sub shop in New York. The real deal, with cappicola, big Italian rolls, red and green peppers, provolone cheese, homemade dressing made with oil & vinegar and seasonings...the works!

We still eat subs when we get together on the Jersey shore. They're real treats, and each sub shop has its own nuances....

Those of you who are from the East Coast, or who have tasted these subs know what I mean. But is there anything like this in LA? I've yet to find it....
