East Bay Eats and more

Someone mentioned San Pablo Poultry in a post that is on ... San Pablo Avenue, of all places.

Driving up and down, I am missing it. So I did a web search to verify the address. I stumbled across this very cool Chronicle guide to East Bay neighborhoods.

While not comprehensive, it really has a lot with links to Chronicle reviews if any. There are places I never hear about on Chowwhound, like two Hong Kong style dessert places in Oakland - Yummy Guide (Hot desserts include steamed white fungus with papaya) or Fruit Oasis Cafe on 11th in Oakland serving "a refreshing blend of fresh watermelon, peach and ice ... a rich, sweet avocado milkshakem ... herb jelly, topped with kiwi, melons and peaches"

I was just wondering about Happy Produce on Solano today which is mentioned.

And a mile from Jack London square is the Oyster Reef which has both seafood and a Bay View.

Michael Mischer Chocolates on Grand Ave in Oakland?

Filippo's Pastaria in Rockridge?

The Piedmont section begins with a picture of Fenton's black and tan sundae.

At the bottom of the link are more links to other East Bay Neighborhoods. Some are better covered than others. There's also a link to SF neighborhoods, but only some of the neighborhoods have the same format.

BTW, the 'and more' part means that all aspects of each neighborhood are mentioned, like museums, non food stores, sites to see, etc.
