East Bay Caterer or Party Trays

Jane Hathaway | Jan 25, 200506:58 PM

I love to cook so much that I've never considered using a caterer before. However, I'm still a bit burned out from overdoing it at Christmas and I want to really enjoy my daughter's first birthday party so I'm thinking of either having it catered or getting some sort of trays from somewhere. I thought about Whole Foods, but I always think their prepared foods look better than they actually are. I also saw that La Mediterranee in Berkeley does trays for parties that look interesting. It's going to be a small party (10-20 people - mostly adults) so I think a caterer may be a bit much. I'm trying to keep it simple, but delicious and with decent presentation. We're through the tunnel, but could do Berkeley/Oakland, Lafayette, Walnut Creek, Danville, San Ramon. I'm open to any cuisine and am leaning toward finger food rather than an entire meal. Any suggestions? Thank you.
