east asian grocery store in downtown/midtown toronto?

autopi | Aug 21, 201104:55 AM     7

my apologies if this has been discussed before -- i searched and couldn't find anything. i am looking for recommendations for comprehensive asian grocers (produce, pantry staples, noodles, etc.) in toronto, preferably TTC accessible and not out in burbs. i know there must be dozens of them, but as a newcomer, i am feeling a bit stymied to know where to begin. i'm primarily interested in east asian (chinese, korean, vietnamese, japanese, etc.) grocers, but would also be very happy to learn where to go for groceries from the subcontinent.

if the best markets are out in the burbs, i can see renting a zipcar every now and again to stock up, but am hoping there are markets more centrally located that will do.
