A few people have posted about this place recently, but i visited on sunday and was mildly disappointed. especially after reading the Vogue write-up, I had visions of something grander. It felt exactly like one of those mall stores (Candy Factory?), but bigger and with an ice cream counter. It was nice to get nostalgic over stuff i hadn't seen in a while, like big league chew and pixie sticks, but too much space is wasted on novelty items, like fake cell phones and powerpuff girl toys with candy attached. And too many m&ms. The selection is very American, but sans more regional stuff like Squirrel Nut Zippers. I guess I'm just upset because I was wishing for a one-stop source of my international favorites: Nestle jelly tots, kinder surprise, grether's blackcurrant pastilles. oh well.
