Dust in Midwood

Driggs | Apr 20, 2002 03:07 PM

There has been alot of dust kicked up over fairness, deleted threads, and preferential treatment, with Difars often at the center. I have been on both sides of the debate, having had threads deleted for the use of the word zealot (ToyStory is on alot in my house) and at the same time defended places for the sake of defending places. Of course all this detracts from whats best about this sight; sharing info with others who get a thrill out of good unique food and the wonderful wacky world that is the outerbouroughs. I was going to write a posting saying how fed up I was with it all, a "cant we just get along" posting. But for me this is a hobby and for others its there life. They obviously devote a great deal of energy to keeping this sight focused. (keeping adverts and wackos of isn't easy). If I devoted that energy to this sight I am sure some of my eccentricities would come across. Energy breads emotion, from emotion comes eccentricities. Do I think its fair? well, no not really. I kinda wish it was more free wheeling. Am I willing to quit my job and devote myself 100% to building a more fair websight. No. Put another way, cut these guys some slack, they run a first class sight that is damn good at what it does. Spend the extra energy talking food (ok ok, this posting aint about food, and I am sure its gonna do nothing but kick up more dust). If you dont like Difaras tell me why and whats better. Substance over style, thats the ticket.....
