Boyfriend is having a Dungeons & Dragons session with a few friends (5-6 guys, late 20s/early 30s) this weekend, and I'd like to cater the event! Looking for D&D-themed/inspired dishes to put a festive spin on, as well as non-messy, somewhat-healthy snacks that can be eaten throughout the day.
This gathering will last from ~2pm to 2am probably, so I'm planning on making snacks and a couple of dishes that can be eaten for brunch and reheated for dinner (I'll be leaving when the game starts, and coming back when it is wrapping up). Usually the guys order pizza/eat junk but this is the first time bf is hosting and I'm seizing the opportunity to cook for a crowd :)
So far, I'm thinking mushroom spinach quiche "muffins," pan of beef cannelloni, crudite with garlic hummus, quinoa tabbouleh, pineapple-kiwi fruit salad, pan of roasted turkey legs (can these roast low and slow in the oven throughout the better portion of the day with minimal supervision and not come out tough/dry? I don't have a slow cooker btw!). Raspberry cheesecake and D20 cookies for dessert!
Tons of beer as well of course :)
Suggestions &substitutions kindly requested--I don't think the menu is sufficiently d&d-themed. Thanks!
