At this point, I am pretty much settled on going for the Friday lunch at Galatoire's. It would seem to be an experience not to be had elsewhere.
Many of you have described the abundance of old New Orleans families, the socializing between tables, and southern ladies and gentlemen dressed to the nines.
Those of you who have seen this spectacle, can you describe the clothes in a bit more detail, especially that of the ladies? What should I wear to fit in as well as possible? The feeling I am getting is something akin to what I might wear as a guest at an afternoon wedding. Am I getting warm? I would like to do my best to honor and properly adorn this venerable institution.
Thanks for your help and advice!
