I have always enjoyed Drago over the years. Most appetizers are under $10.00, Pastas under $15.00, and many Entrees under $20.00. The Beet and Goat Cheese appetizer, the Polenta with Wild Mushrooms, Clams and Mussels in Broth have all been great, consistant starters. The wine list has some good values, last night a 1998 Chianti Riserva for $38.00. Well balanced wine, drinking nicely now. The Lamb Loin has been excellent on past visits as well as the Squid Ink Risotto with Seafood, last night I tried the Spaghetti with Sardines. It was al dente and the Sardines gave it an excellent flavor. The server was excellent and made sure that we were well taken care of. The pasta was his suggestion. In the past I have never been a fan of the desserts at Drago. We would just order one and pass it around the table. Last night I looked at the Dessert Menu and everything sounded like something that I must have. We tried the Chocolate Ravioli with Chocolate Sorbet and the Chocolate and Bananna Tart with Caramel Sauce and Espresso Gelato. Both of these desserts were great beyond our wildest expectations. The sorbet was actually as good as Alto Pallato. These desserts are world class. They must have hired a top of the line pastry chef. Drago is under serious consideration for my new favorite restaurant. 4 people for dinner with wine, $220.00 out the door including a 20% tip. The meal really could not have been better.
