I will soon be relocating to the back bay for work and I want to take advantage of all the lunch places I have enjoyed while working on state street. The one condition is that it has to be takeout and I am leaving Chinatown out of the discussion.
Chacarero: Several trips to this South American import are in order (okay, I've already made two). I always get the vegetarian sandwich but i think I should try the BBQ chicken just once.
The Bean and Leaf Cafe: I simply adore their Lemon Cilantro Chicken Soup. It is bright flavorful with a little tang. Comforting, nourishing yet light enough to be enjoyed in the summer.
Sel de la Terre Cafe: I just finished their cream of asparagus soup with a piece of sourdough bread. The soup tasted of butter, cream, asparagus and an undercurrent of lemon.
Sultan's Kitchen: Their vegatable meze plate is amazing but sometimes just too oily. I think I'll stick to their light-as-air smoky smooth babaghanoush. Their baba never gets that acrid taste that sometimes plagues the almighty baba. I might also indulge in their almond pudding.
Cosi: I know, it's a chain. But, their bread with the salt sprinkled on top makes me think of a street-vendor soft pretzel. Their signature salad with just a little ginger soy dressing has been a long-term staple

Am I missing anything else???
