My agency is hosting our 10th year anniversary, and we need a hotel that will hold anywhere from 600-700. We want people to have a nice dining experience, but it's more of an afternoon, reception/tea event with fancy hors d'oeuvres. Not a sit down dinner, but not just cookies either.
We've checked out the Hyatt, Marriott, and Palace downtown, and were dismayed (though not shocked) that food would start around $50 a head for not much more than cheese and fruit, and climb steeply upward from there.
Sigh. Is there no large venue in the downtown area where we can provide people a decent meal on a non-profit budget ($30pp for food)? Accessibility (large elevators, lots of bathrooms) is an issue because we have seniors/ppl with disabilities, as is public transportation.
