599 Bloor St W (south side of Bloor, just west of Bathurst)
after last week's Ramen thread courtesy of Miguel & all other chowhounders, i was craving ramen all week long .. when the weekend came, i decided to hit Double Happiness in Koreatown ..
not too busy on a saturday afternoon .. a very cozy place i can see myself revisiting .. we ordered the fishball ramen ($5) and tonkatsu ramen ($5), both incl tax and a free can of pop ..
the ramen was egg-based, and had a nice firm texture .. served piping hot, there was no sign of overcooking .. the broth was very intense in flavour, though my S.O. found it on the side of salty .. the noodles actually tasted strongly of a green onion broth, and was distinctly different from the flavour of the broth ..
as noted by a fellow chowhound, the tonkatsu ramen disappointingly came with bulgogi beef instead of fried porkchops .. a bit odd, but it did not occur to me to ask the waitress ..
