More nasty deeds from DoorDash . . . as cities and states place caps on commission rates it can charge restaurants, DoorDash (and Uber also) has instituted additional local fees to make up the difference. And unfortunately, at least one council member in Oakland doesn't think it can be stopped.
And let's not forget that Instacart, Uber, Lyft, DoorDash and Postmates spent more than $220 million to pass Prop 22 in California. Before the election they said that delivery charges would go up if the proposition did not pass. Now that it has passed and become law, they are raising prices on consumers to recoup those lobbying costs and taking that gig worker exemption model across the country.
They are evil.
