Don Chuy's West LA

I have been meaning to try this little place, right on the NW corner of Washington Place and Mclauglin, (aka Barrington) for sometime, and finally got the job done last week.

They offer a nice selection of Mexican Seafood dishes such as shrimp and octopus cocktails, fish stews, etc.

I have had their Super Burrito, ($6.50) with Al Pastor. This comes with rice, beans, sour cream, cheese and lettuce. I like the green salsa, but the red if quite good too, or they will do it up half and half. They also offer chicken, carne asada or carnitas. Also have had their goat and carnitas soft tacos, both very tasty. Home made corn tortillas.

And while I have not tried any of their daily special soups, etc. they offer menudo, caldo de birra de chivo, along with pozole and pollo en mole. They open at 9 a.m. and serve breakfast and continue serving right up until they close at 10 p.m.

A rating and very friendly owner and other people working there could not have been nicer of made me feel more welcome.

Low key, small comfortable, ultra friendly and tasty. Just the way I like my neighborhood Mexican restaurants.
