I'm heading down to the Amalfi coast for a weekend and have booked Don Alfonso near Sorrento b/c of its Michelin stars and because most of the mentions of it on this sight seem really positive, but there are a disturbing (to me) number of people who seem to think it is overated and perhaps a bit precious.
I like rustic, regional food and knowing that Don Alfonso's owners produce much of the restaurant's food on their own farm is encouraging.
Has anybody eaten there recently that would like to join the fray? I'm only in Italy for the weekend, so I want to be careful with my meals and would hate to waste one on a disappointment. Cheers.
