Dom & Vinnie's - Yonkers

After eating at this place three times, I've come to the conclusion that it's an underrated gem of a restaurant.

A pizza parlour up front, there's a sit-down restaurant in the back. They have some dishes I've never seen before at an Italian restaurant, and they were all pretty amazing.

First, chicken with a balsamic vinegar reduction that was an explosion of flavor in your mouth. The fact that the chicken was a little dry wasn't even a problem, because the sauce was so incredible.

Then I had pork chops with hot cherry peppers and potatoes, with another incredibly vinegary sauce (not balsamic this time.) These guys really love vinegar I guess. The chop itself was good, but the combination of flavors with the peppers and potatoes was wonderful.

I also tried pasta with "veal sauce", which I expected to be a red sauce, but was simply small chunks of tender veal, green peppers, olive oil, garlic and maybe some wine. Great.

Has anyone else tried this place? I think it was mentioned here before, but only regarding the pizza.

Dom & Vinnie's is at 351 Saw Miller River Road in Yonkers. A quick drive off 87 or the Hutchinson.
