Doctor's Cave Cafe - Bed Stuy

I used to frequent this place almost everyday when I worked in the neighborhood. A completely unique place. A married couple runs this tiny cafe, he from England, she from Jamaica, and what a wonderful culinary mix. They really put a lot of care into what they make.

I've heard they make brunch on the weekend, waffles made with one of those old fashioned non-electric waffle makers that you put over a flame and flip. Amazing! This is the kind of flare they do everything, from there incredible fish dishes, baked good (oh my gahd, marion berry cake, you've never had anything like it, plantain tarts also incredible). They even turn a simple tuna salad into something memorable.

It's an inexpensive place, and definitely more European sized portions, which I prefer. Why do restaurants always feed individuals for two? Not necessary IMO.

I really love this place
