DIY Meatball Parm at Lazzara's

So I went to back Lazzara's this time searching for what some (including my man Robert Sietsma) have said is the best meatball parm hero in the city. Started with the grandma pizza which as always was superb. But the MBP hero, while solid, was disappointing. The ingredients were good but didn't meld. Also way too little cheese for my taste. Rather than send it back, I improvised by taking the cheese off of a slice and sticking it in my hero. Helped but didn't really make a big difference. Frankie's Spuntino is still my #1 meatball parm but is too small and isn't really a hero on the Grandaisy flatbread. Any other suggestions?
