Hi. I went to DISHES last night which is located where the old Aetna Diner/Comet/Oasis were. The place looks about the same as it did when it was the Oasis but a little mellower.
Our waitress was sassy and very friendly and had a bunch of information about how the place is going to begin having comedy/jazz/gay etc. nights down in the club in the basement. Also, when they kick that off you can dine upstairs and each table has a flatscreen tv where you can watch whatever is going on down in the club.

enough about that though...
Here's what you need to know....they don't have any beer on tap but do have a decent bottle selection. One in our party ordered the Portabella Fries as an appetizer and was oohing and ahing while eating it but her take on it afterwards was "too breaded."
Two of us had the Island Barbeque Ribs...not bad. Two of us had the Thai Shrimp (in lieu of the Filet Mignon which sounded great, but they were out). All portions seem small at this joint but the food is pretty good.

All 4 of us will definitely go back again when the club opens....and we're all jazzed to go for their Saturday/Sunday all day breakfast menu. I live in West Hartford and generally go to the Harvest in Simsbury for a great breakfast so if Dishes can do it up, I'll save time and gas money heading there for breakfast.
