Disaster to Great service story

So, I will spare you all the details of my horrid horrid day yesterday (involves a 4 year old, barfing and a possible appendicitis) - but by the time it was time for hubby and I to have dinner, there was no energy left for cooking. So we ordered from Sul Viale. Pizza for him, salad for both of us, and (this is why I love them) an off the menu pasta for me. 45 mins later, ding dong, delivery. A pizza and a salad. No pasta. So I call them back, and (I have mentioned the incredible phone service before) the really nice guy is all apologetic, I'm sending your pasta out right away, and I told him to forget it, it was after 10:00, I wasn't all that hungry anymore. No problem. My husband bites into his pizza - Stone cold. The cheese had gotten all globby already. YUCK. I call back. I hate to complain, but YOUR PIZZA IS COLD. Less than 30 minutes later, Tony, the owner of the place is at my door, with a piping hot pizza, my pasta - and the whole meal on the house. Nice save.

So not only did I end up with a free meal, but I capped it off with an incredible dessert from our favourite cake shop and a ridiculously good bottle of Spanish red. And that was a superb end to a horrible day.

So, great service and good friends, can make up for anything.
