Disappointment at Doogies (Newington, CT)

Redstone | Jan 29, 2008 09:52 AM

Well, their claim to fame used to be that they had two-foot-long hot dogs, and they did, and those (and the "regular" foot-longs) were indeed very good.

I should have known that things had changed in Doogies when I went there a couple of weeks ago; the hand-printed menu signs had been by nice, shiny plastic printed ones...and horror of horrors, the "Reuben Dog" was GONE from the menu.

It was worse than I anticipated. The former 2-foot-long dog is now 16 inches (a whole THIRD LESS), and the former foot-long is now 10 inches (20% LESS), but the prices are still the SAME.

Success, it seems, has gone to the head of yet another formerly-wonderful place.
