Disappointing Experience at Emperor's Choice in Chinatown

Logan | Jul 12, 2004 05:23 PM

I was rather disappointed by my experience last week at Emperor's Choice in Chinatown. Although it's been touted as one of Chicago's best places for chinese and seafood in particular, I found the food to be mediocre at best. It's also overpriced: My husband and I ordered two sodas, two seafood entrees, one appetizer, and two hot and sour soups. Our total came to $55 without tip, and frankly, it wasn't anything to write home about. I don't think I'll be back anytime soon.

Have any other chowhounds had similar experiences at Emperor's Choice? What's the best place for Chinese in Chinatown these days? I particularly like hot and sour soup, entrees with shrimp, and duck. Thanks.
