Went to Orleans in Davis Square with a group of 5 tonight. The place was pretty empty. Appetizers were underwhelming. The bruschetta was sparse on the mushrooms, despite being listed as a wild mushroom bruschetta. The special of the night, duck with cherries, and a raisin compote, was overcooked, according to my companion. Another entree, the Fettuccine with Italian sausage, was bland, with an uninteresting red sauce. My dish, the Braised lamb shank, was ok. The lamb was very fatty, but the mashed potatoes and winter veggies served with it were decent. However, the entree was luke warm. Dessert was good, however, with a creamy creme brulee, and a chocolate molten. Glad it wasnt my tab however. Service was prompt, and our server was attentive and funny.
