My wife and and had an amazing dinner at SingleThread in Healdsburg on Dec. 30th.
Forst off, the town of Healdsburg was great as it had a quint feeling with lots of boutique, resturants, and wine tasting shops. We had reservations at 6pm but got there early and visiting a cupcake bakery called mustache and also did some wine tasting at a place called Williamsons. Williamsoms gave out free wine tasting and cheese pairing.
When we arrived at the resturant we were immediately blown away. They greeted us with warm apple cider to start at the window to the kitchen. The interior of the dining area was modern and used lots of wood and ceramic tiles. It was not stuffy but warm and inviting. The staff were friendly and amazing. The food was a heavy fusion of japanese and californian with lots of items from their own farms or local to sonoma.
When we got to the table, our appetizer was already set for us and it was an impressive spread.
The mains courses had everything from raw fish, to braised lobster in a donabe, lamb, lots of their farm veggies.
We also had 3 courses of amazing dessert.
We were really impressed and been awhile since we've been WOW'ed!
Have a full course outline and photos on my site, but highly recommend you make reservations.
