Hello fellow chowhounds,
I've never been to Sacramento before (I live in SoCal), and a couple of us will be attending a conference there in the middle of the week (in March). The conference is at the Shearaton Grand (on J Street), which I've been told is close to the capitol.
If someone could give me dinner recs that would be greatly appreciated. We have a $45/person dining budget so I would prefer not to go over that. My traveling buddy is not too fond of seafood or any "authentic" asian food (I see there are tons of Chinese restaurants, maybe next time). We won't have a car, so any places within walking distance would be preferable.
Sounds like Zelda's might be up our alley, but that might be too far for us. Italian, American, Mexican places would all be good for us. Any place that has a fun nightlife might be a nice change of pace for us. :) Places with good sandwiches and salads would also work.
Thanks a bunch in advance!
