I need a dinner rec for this Monday night near Little Valley and Salamanca (Cattaraugus/Western/NY). I have done some preliminary research as follows:
*Googled and found:
-Red Garter Restaurant, "where the old West comes East"
-DiPaolo Ilio, Italian (Blasdell)
. . .Both closed Mondays
*Searched this Board by:
-Harpoon Hanna's Raw Bar & Grill (Salamanca)
-The Old Library (Olean)
-Cloud's Cafe (Salamanca)
-Flavor House (Little Valley)
. . . Only found a post for The Old Library
*Reviewed www.cse.buffalo.edu (found link on this Board) - not much for Cattaraugus
*Read jerryc123's posts which were very helpful
*Discovered Attards (Lebanese) rec - thanks for the post, mom2
*Discovered Century 100 and Ho-Sta-Geh recs
Price not an issue. Good wine list a plus. Open to all types of cuisine especially regional ones (Montreal has several African restaurants, Astoria has great Greek food, etc.). I do not eat red meat (menu needs fish, poultry or vegetarian apps/entrees). Atmosphere should be quiet enough so we can have a relaxing, enjoyable dinner. I must be able to get a reservation for Monday.
The Old Library (Olean) sounds like a good possibility if Olean is not too far from Salamanca and Little Valley. The last report was in May 2009. Has anyone been recently? Your experience? Other recs?
I will report back (still behind in Montreal and PR reports).
