We went to our 1st dinner at Babbo last night, which was amazing!!!! We had the pasta tasting menu with wine pairings & it was outrageous. They let us substitute 1 of the pastas. We had black tagliatelle with parsnips & pancetta (fantastic, one of our favorites)...mint love letters (very different, great tasting, wouldn't want it for a full entree size though)...garganelli with funghi trifolati (oh my, could have had more!!)...Fernando's pyramids with passato di prmodoro (could have licked the plate clean)...pappardelle bolognese (just like we had in Sienna when we were there, great!)...then we had 3 desserts...a tiny, tiny cup of panna cotta al vincotto di Lampone that was wonderfully thick...a tiny, itty bitty tortina al cioccolato con meringa, that was wonderfully intense chocolate, with a crust, that is a chocolate lovers delight...and venetian apple cake with yogurt gelato, that I wish I hadn't been groaninly full by that point so that I could have savoured it more. While there were too many courses and we were beyond stuffed, we loved every single minute & bite of our dinner. I can't wait to go back & try more from the menu. The osso buco looked fantastic...as did all the other plates we saw around us.
