Hope everyone is having a great eating weekend. Just wanted some quick thoughts. I have a friend coming in from NYC next weekend. I made reservations at La Bastide, La Chronique, and Globe. Globe is soon to be canceled though just because of the noise factor. I have been to La Chronique multiple times and love it, but it might just be a bit to formal/hushed. I have yet to try La Bastide (have heard good things), I was also wondering if Club des Pins might be a good option for a younger couple out on a Fri night. Also, is Au Pied de Cochon a good place for a kind of date where you might be able to linger a bit over an apperatif etc? My only other thought was Anise on Laurier. (I am taking her to lÈxpress for lunch and Papaye Verte for dinner for the other meals). Let me know. Thanks for the help.....by the way, just got a sandwich and some deserts from a great little place on Duluth (just east of St Laurent) called Soupsoup. The sammy was made on fresh wheat bread that was moist in the middle and crunchy in the crust. The filling was proscuitto with marrinated red peppers, basil, and tomato. The little blueberry tart was in a homemede crust that melted in my mouth. They also make soup each day and are open from lunch to dinner with eatin or takeout. I think that it would be a great place to stop for a bit while wandering the Plateau.
Thanks again for the help!
