Dining without reservations

Robin Majumdar | Oct 25, 2000 05:51 PM

I'm visting in November and for the first time I will not be making dinner reservations - I'm just going to try and just get into places on the night. Is this realistic (especially as this will be from Thursday to Sunday)?

I'm staying in SoHo but will be checking out the East Village/Gramercy/West Village/Tribeca/Meatpacking areas. I'd appreciate any recommendations. Cuisine and price is not an issue (I've been saving all my pennies) but I want good food and good service.

Previously I've tried and enjoyed places like Tabla/Gotham B&G/Gramercy Tavern/Aquagrill/Clinton Fresh Food but I wouldn't rule out more casual places.

Many Thanks

Robin

PS Anyone know when Craft is opening ?
