Myself and the hubs are visiting Vancouver from Victoria this weekend coming and didn't realize it was also Dine Out... In the past, dining in Victoria for our similar event Dine Around, we have been disappointed and decided not to partake while the event is on. Our top Vancouver picks are all participating in Dine Out. In addition to being booked up, we are concerned about sub-par food and service.
I have made the following reservations, but I'm really not feeling convinced.
Friday dinner @ Wildebeest; Sat brunch at Chambar; Sat dinner at Pidgin. Both dinners are late, 9:30 friday and 8:45 Saturday. Also, both Pidgin and Wildebeest are in the same neighbourhood and it would be good to venture out of Gastown. We're staying at the Marriott Pinnacle, but are ok with walking to Yaletown or Robson etc.
I guess what I'm hoping for is some advice, either stay clear of these or go for it! If you think Dine Out is usually really good value and experience or not so much?
Other recommendations would be appreciated. For reference, we LOVED our meal at Altura in Seattle (sat at the open kitchen bar) and in Victoria like Ulla, Cafe Brio for food and the vibe and cocktails at Veneto (the food is fine).
