din tai fung not so good

howard 1st | Mar 30, 201711:48 AM     4

went to the much anticipated new branch of the world-wide din tai fung at pacific place (having managed to miss all the other locations) and was hugely disappointed - i could have handled the huge crowds and stunning cacophony (what ever happened to restaurants where you could talk to your tablemates?) and weird mode of service (items ordered appear at random) but cannot excuse flabby dumplings with pasty jackets and bland fillings. if the other dozens of locations are similar, i suppose this puts it in the mcdonalds class - vastly popular and quite inedible
