during a recent family gathering for Chinese New Years, my aunt confirmed that the dim sum chef from Pacific Garden is now working at New Shanghai. She even treated us to a New Years dessert that he had made, and given to friends/family. First was a lightly sweetened red bean paste sandwiched between two thick slices of coconut jello. And the later was a honey dew flavored liang-gao. Both were nicely done. As far as dim sum at New Shanghai goes, it appears that they now do the "made to order" checklist. I'll be stopping in this weekend to try it out.
