New Dim Sum in Cleveland - Yummy Bao!

NancyH | Aug 13, 200403:43 PM

C&Y Chinese Restaurant - I just had lunch there. I really wish this place well. Some of you may recognize one of the proprietors, Jimmy, who used to work at Li Wah.

The Dim Sum I sampled for lunch were exquisite and fresh, and the bao were better than Joe's Shanghai in NYC (bao are ingenious soup dumplings - broth and a ball of meat/shrimp filling are encased in a wrapper and steamed until the broth is practically boiling inside the dumpling).

Even at this weekday lunch, there were a few varieties of Dim Sum that I had never had before; since I was alone, I couldn't really sample very many, but I'll be back!

C&Y is at 2222 St. Clair Ave. (216) 566-1188. Open 10am-Midnight.

I looked at the fish tank before I left, and it was clean and full of a nice variety of fin fish and seafood -- they actually have live Alaskan King Crab; I had never seen one outside of a freezer.
