Coming to LA for Easter, arriving in NO on Thursday morning. We'll stay at the McKendrick-Breaux for one night, then go up the river to St. Francisville (family). Thanks to everybody on this board, but especially to hazelhurst and Hungry Celeste we have decided to give dinner at Dick and Jenny's a try.
If I read everything correctly, it's pretty casual, Khakis and a nice polo shirt is OK, right? Or should we do better? More importantly, I should discourage my brother-in-law from wearing shorts, oui?
We are going to be a group of four adults and one chowpup (age 2), and we like to eat reasonably early. How early should we show up? Lastly, should we drive or take a cab?
Next quest. Given the holiday situation, what would be the best day to visit The Best Stop, plus does somebody have an address? Friday is an option, so is Monday. I know I should go before 11:30, and I have the phone number, so I guess I should find it.
Any chow destinations to seek out while in St. Francisville? Including across the river?
Thanks much in advance, I'm looking forward to a grand old relaxing bon temps.
