Eight o'clock Saturday night, party of eight. I didn't see the check, THANK GOD! we ran through about 6 bottles of wine.

I had the White Bean Soup as a starter and the Pecan Crusted Speckled Trout for my entree, it was cut like a steak rather than fileted but was pretty good. My fiancee had the Seared Tuna as his entree and the entree appetizer platter as his appetizer, so did two of the other guys. The entree appetizer platter had about a dozen fried oysters on it, with some saucy-like thing - Rouille? smeared underneath AND the crab cake.

Two of the girl friends had salads to start and there were three or four orders of the Duck Confit 'cigars' floating around the table. Three of the guys had the 'beef' platter: the grilled Flat Iron steak and the beef ribs combination, served with garlic mashed potatoes. Our meat salesman friend was one of the guy's who ordered the 'beef platter' and he was very complimentary (D&J are not customers of his either) about the quality of the beef.

As far as the wine goes we started with a Chianti and moved on to a Barolo.

Afterwards we stopped to visit a friend and were offered some Partridge Eye (red) Vin Santo made by her family in Tuscany to accompany our biscotti. Then she insisted we have our Espresso. I ran 5 miles today because I have final fittings coming up.
