After working almost 3 years in Allen, I'm about to move to an office elsewhere, and I just wanted to share a few finds with any Chowhounds looking for good food in this wasteland of chain restaurants.
First, Samui Thai on McDermott is a highly-rated Thai place, and I can report that the rating is well-deserved. Prices are quite reasonable too, and the atmosphere is quiet and nicely decorated.
Second, Italian Villa at McDermott and Greenville is a nice little neighborhood Italian place. It's nothing fancy, just basic, from-scratch sausage rolls/meatball subs/baked ziti type stuff. I eat here at least once a week.
And finally, a new place, Elke's Market Cafe, also at McDermott and Greenville, has great, freshly-made cold-case deli salads, sandwiches, homemade soups of the day, and packaged homemade casseroles, dips, etc. I've been really happy with everything I've eaten here. There are a few tables for dining in, but space is somewhat limited, so this is really more of a take away type of place.
