I finally got over to Sakagura to partake in some of the new(ish) desserts since they hired their pastry chef. One of the best desserts I've tasted in a while was the black sesame (kuro goma) creme brulee, served a la mode with black sesame ice cream. Someone inquired a little while back about black sesame ice cream, and I would be confident to say that if you like black sesame ice cream, you will thoroughly enjoy this dessert. The nashi (japanese pear) dessert is also quite good, especially if you've never tasted Japanese pears. The matcha (green tea) truffles are also quite exquisite. They have dessert samplers for 2 at $14 (for 5 items), which is quite a good deal. Better deals for 3 or 4 (priced accordingly) are probably even better values.
