Finally made it to this place - everything was wonderful. Especially loved the appetizer special - Nobscusset(sp?) oysters on the half shell. Other couple had a salad and app size gnocchi with short ribs (which we tasted: yum!)Entrees: 2 lamb osso buccos, trout, and the cavatelle with sausage, pancetta and peas-generous portions, interesting flavors -- everyone well-satisfied. Desserts: panna cotta with strawberries and a touch of balsamic vinegar; banana bread pudding with caramel ice cream; chocolate cake with molten center; sorbet sampler. All were delicious and nicely presented without being overly frou-frou.
An interesting footnote: my husband and I initially ordered the panna cotta to share, and the waiter suggested that we each get our own dessert because they "weren't that big," so my husband ordered the bread pudding. When the waiter brought the check he informed us that he didn't charge us for the desserts because he had thought we were having the prix fixe dinner (which includes dessert) and didn't want us to feel that he'd talked us into ordering two desserts just to increase the amount of the check. Needless to say, this unexpected honesty and generosity will certainly make us return!
