Delicious pork belly surprise

DodinBouffant | Feb 13, 2004 01:22 PM

I needed to pick up some chips for a party the other night and randomly selected a market along my route to stop at. The market is 4 Brothers Market at the corner of Washington Street and Archdale(Roslindale, not quite a mile from Forest Hills T heading towards Dedham). When I opened the door I was immediately hit with warmth and a delicious aroma of spices and cooked meat, and I knew before even seeing what it was I wasn't leaving without any if it was for sale. Turns out they have one of those little lighted warming boxes on the counter and inside it is this amazing roasted/fried pieces of pork and pork belly. The pork is well seasoned(not spicy), the skin is thin and as brittle as glass, the fat was rendered just enough and the meat was still juicy....it was a great treat.

The stuff costs $6.95 per pound and I'm planning on driving by to get some more. They had a couple of other things that I didn't really pay much attention too because the pork had basically hypnotized me...I love these little finds.

I'm not sure what number Washington Street it is but it is directly on the corner of Archdale where there is a traffic light.
