Deep Fried Bacon

Ever have a day when you have a few too many brews and feel the need to deep batter-fry everything in reach? Well, allow me to wax rhapsodic over one of those once-in-a-lifetime culinary accidents that change your life ... deep fried bacon. I cut the extra-thick slices into thirds, lightly coated them with season-free flour and cornmeal, and went to town with the deep-frying. Meltingly lovely. I just tried tossing a few with a lightly tangy tomato-paste-based glaze and holy macaroni!

Have I stumbled onto a delicious accident or is this a common dish? Will I cruise Epicurious and find this is a well-known dish?

Next in the fryer are batter-dipped garlic cloves and then perhaps some batter-fried KimChee...
