Decent combo espresso/coffee maker

sonoregina | Jan 5, 201702:22 PM     1

I have searched and searched and can't find a coffee maker that makes a great espresso with real crema and a great cup or pot of "American" coffee. Rather, I should say, there are many out there but what is considered really good is priced in the thousands (does not work for me) or there are too many complaints about the coffee not being hot, the crema being fake, tasting weak,....you name it. I don't have tons to spend, but I am spoiled by great Italian espresso that I have had in Italy when I was fortunate enough to study and visit family there. The bars saw me multiple times a day. I couldn't get enough.

The other thing that might be helpful is what to look for in this type of machine. What makes a good machine. Good bar style espresso and old fashioned perked coffee flavors are what I am looking for and I refuse to believe that I have to spend thousands to achieve this. I will stick to my stove top Bialetti before I do that. And before anyone asks, I do use great quality coffee.

Thanks to any who can offer some help in this area.
