another q from DC hound: Sonoma recs

TerriS from DC | Feb 5, 200402:11 PM     4

Thanks to all those who helped with my birthday question below. I gave a list to the birthday girl and we'll see what she comes up with.

Next task: I will have one precious day during which I will be driving up to Sonoma to do a little wine tasting. Have been to Napa so wanted to do something different and laid back. Need a good (and again, reasonably priced) place for dinner. A friend recommended Meritage and after perusing the sample menus available on that website (www.sonomameritage.com) as well as The Girl and the Fig, we decided on Meritage. Menu looks more varied and we're intrigued by the tasting menu options. I poked around but found no mention of it. Anyone been? Should I change my reservation?

Also, if anyone has any fabulous recs for places for a quick lunch and/or markets for cheese, bread, and other yummies, do share.

Thanks!
