We opted for Babita this year.... and I'm so glad that we did, because I finally got to indulge in chiles en nogada. (BTW, for those of you who enjoy the Babita version, I was told that they might have it till March or so.) Started out with their infamous guacamole and chips. Soup was creamy corn, carrot and a splash of tequila, decorated with cute little cream-y hearts. Standard ceasar salad with an ample amount of caviar mixed into the greens. And a choice of entrees (I don't remeber the details of the salmon and chicken dishes): the SO had filet mignon with mole sauce and I chose the chiles in nogada.
It was absolutely INCREDIBLE. The smooth, creamy goat cheese-walnut sauce had a distinct tang at the end, and the pomegranate seeds made each spoonful memorable. Garnished with blanched asparagus on the side.
And the dessert: chocolate mousse sandwiched in-between boozy slices of chocolate cake, shaped into a heart.
Wonderful meal, with attentive service and excellent food. For those of you who haven't tried the chiles en nogada yet, GO NOW!
