Darn good barbecue in Chapel Hill

Jenny | Sep 3, 2001 11:20 PM

Being a very discerning eater, I was quite pleasantly impressed on a recent trip to Chapel Hill. A place called Red Hot & Blue, although a chain, offered up the tastiest brisket, beans & slaw! Hooo-eee! Tender, delicious brisket that fell apart in my mouth, without the usual fattiness, served up with a fine sauce, and more to choose from right on the table....a hot, a mustard, a sweet, and a super mild. The beans were wonderful, cooked with green peppers and sweet and yummy. The slaw was fresh, and not overly-mayonnaised.....nice and cabbagey. Boy, was I surprised, and certainly delighted to have found a BBQ joint worthy as could be! It is located in a shopping area just past where Franklin splits up.
