Daniel's Jamaican food stand in Berkeley

escargot3 | Jun 27, 201312:30 PM     6

I slammed the brakes when I noticed a new addition to the San Pablo corridor in Berkeley today. Planted on the kinda barren lot of what once was a gas station and now is home to Jared's Pottery, this food stand offered a really good chicken roti.

Roti is large, filled with bits of chicken and potatoes. The curry spicing was perfect. The added hot sauce had a pleasant zing. They also offer a nice range of island beverages.

Not a destination, but a great spot for a quick lunch. Just north of Ashby Avenue on the west side of a little street: Pardee.
