I've got a business trip coming up and I'd like to get some feedback on my dining lineup. Will have 4 lunches and dinners. Interested in local specialties, especially if it's a cuisine I can't find in Dallas. I prefer ethnic foods and divier kind of places over fine dining/white tablecloth. Dining budget is ideally under $30 a person. Staying in Tyson's Corner and will have a car. One of my coworkers can't do pork, so that's the only dietary restriction. Really curious about Peruvian chicken and would like to hear some recs for that too.
I haven't had much luck turning up results on lunch, so please make suggestions in Tysons Corner or Mclean. Preferably a place under 15 minutes away from these areas. Are Shamshiry or any of the Persian places open for lunch?
I like a lot of the suggestions from these following threads, so used them as starting points:
Looking at the following for dinner:
Chez Aunty Libe - very much excited as I have never tried Senegalese food
Fairfax Inn - in case I can't pull this off, are there any other good Filipino places that don't close at 6? I am Filipino and the positive feedback about them has me pretty curious.
So besides restaurants, some happy hour ideas to have in the pocket are good too. I am eyeballing:
Againn - I understand they are noted for charcuterie, are there non-pork items here that are good?
Very big on craft beer and I plan on checking out ChurchKey as well. Are there any noteworthy dishes there? When can I expect crowds to start rolling in? If anything, I wouldn't mind going there earlier for happy hour, then dining somewhere in the nearby area.
Thanks for the suggestions!
